Medically discharged from the Marines in 2007 after serving two years, he couldn't hold a steady job, struggled in his personal life, lost many of his friends and wrangled with the U.S. Department of Veterans Affairs over benefits payments.

"Once they realized they couldn't agree on music, it became a question of, 'Why would we go out on tour right now?' Their thought process was to get everythingstraightin termsof the creative. It was not a small thing [to call off the tour]." The source adds that the cancelation "doesn't have anything to do with [Dani's] pregnancy" and it won't play out on the E! show, either. "Kevin isn't filming right now. They made a choice to skip this season." That call, however, did have to do, at least in part, with the band's ongoing struggles.

Compton still managed to make it to the PGA Tour, and this year made it through two FedEx Cup playoff events. Through the help of family, doctors and friends, I have gone from being someone lying on his back in recovery to someone walking the fairways of the PGA Tour, Compton said. Not only has playing on tour been a dream of mine, but it has also served greatly in the healing process. It has given me something to work toward, but also something to hope for.
